Sunday Stillness- Birthday Celebration

Happy Celebration day!

What are we celebrating?

For me…it’s another year of my age number increasing but not my mind or body.  Wellllllll…maybe my body; but I am working on that.

Today is my birthday yea!  And I’m so grateful to be spending it with you.  Thanks again for being a part of this wonderful Sunday Stillness Tribe.

How was your gratitude scavenger hunt?  Did you end up finding gratitude in some unlikely places?

I know I did; especially knowing this week was going to be my birthday week.

I kicked off my birthday week a little early this year; and attended another sweat lodge last night (What’s a sweat lodge?  Click Here to read my Sunday Stillness - Hot Hot Hot).  I figure it was appropriate as both my mother and I were probably sweatin’ it the night before I was born.  And it was wonderful…I just love having my cup filled back up again.

You know, we have to fill up our cup; before we can help and serve others.  If our cup is not full and we are not taking good care of ourselves; we aren’t really effective in the pursuit to help others. So, I try and fill up my cup as much as possible.  It helps with my stress, expands my awareness and creativity; and the best part is….I have space and capacity to help others.  Helping others warms my heart and teaches me so many things.

The other thing I will be doing this week to fill up my cup is attending a healing fire ceremony.  I’m attending that tomorrow.  Which, again sounded appropriate for the day after I was born; both my mom and I were healing.  I can’t wait to share more with you next week.  What wonderful book ends to a birthday uh!  Oh, and it’s a milestone birthday to boot…but I’ll let you guess which one.  :)

The rest of the week is celebrations and one of my favorite things to do is dance.  How many of you like to dance?  Do you watch any dance shows?  I’m totally into the World of Dance right now.

Dancing is really healing, balancing, fun and adds more cardio into our lives.  Did you know that dancing balances your brain (mind).  The movement is good for both the left and right side of our brains.  It’s also a good way to connect with your inner child.  To feel free, light and good ole’ fun!

Let’s get the celebration started…I dare you to shake you booty this week.

Need a little jolt to get started?  This is one of my favorite songs (Praan—Garry Schyman) along with a youtube video “Where the hell is Matt”.  (Props to Lissa Rankin for introducing me to both the song and the video).  It definitely gets me moving and warms my heart at the same time.  I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

So, this week…let’s celebrate together and dance all week like no one is watching.

See you in stillness (and the dance floor)
