Sunday Stillness - Ayurveda
Happy Sunday Stillness!
We did it! We made it though another week of our scary schedules. Did everyone have a chance to practice the 16 seconds to bliss breathing technique? Reply to this email and let me know; how did you liked it and how did it help you? If you would like to see an example of the technique check out my live video on Facebook posted June 7th.
Even though I had a very busy week; I ended up adding a new item to my daily routine. Isn’t it funny when we are busy; and then something new comes along, that you just have to try. You wonder…I totally want to try this; but I don’t have the time. You then think about it…..and BAMB you find the time. Well, that happened to me on Wednesday.
I started my Perfect Health Ayurveda Dinacharya routine; a routine that provides a stabilizing influence all day long. As many of you know, I am currently enrolled in the Chopra Center Perfect Health program and graduate in July. I can’t wait to start sharing with you all things Ayurveda.
What is Ayurveda?
Ayurveda (eye-your-vay-duh) is structured and grounded in science and is 5,000+ years old.
Ayurveda is consciousness based system of healing. Consciousness is the underlying realm of our existence that gives rise to our thoughts, feelings, perceptions and interpretations. Even to say that there is a mind body connection is not quite accurate, because our mind and body are two integral aspects of this underlying field of conscious energy.
Listening to the signals of the body and making more conscious choices is the basis of Ayurveda. Ayurveda, the wisdom of life, offering a proven guide for a life of happiness, vitality, love and purpose and learning on how to keep it all balanced.
So, you can imagine by incorporating this into my daily routine how balanced and connected I feel. What’s the routine?
It starts with RPM (Do you remember what RPM stands for?) Rise, Pee, Meditate.
Then, I drink a glass of water with lemon (it stimulates our digestive system); complete four Sun Salutations, perform Abhyanga (massaging the body with oil), brush my teeth, clean my tongue, do some oil pulling (good for teeth and gums) and shower…and I'm out the door.
The benefits are so amazing! I look forward to sharing more with you and how you can bring some of these helpful techniques into your life—-please stay tuned.
Oh, one other new thing I brought into my scary schedule last week was being live on Facebook. I had so much fun (thank you, for all of those who tuned it); it was also a great way to check in with all of you and see how the weeks theme is working out for you. So, I’m going to be live on Facebook every Wednesday at 5:30 pm (PST). Be sure to tune in; I would love to hear from you!
See you in stillness (and on Facebook),
