Sunday Stillness - HOT HOT HOT
Happy Stillness Day!
Some of you might be wondering why this email wasn’t in your inbox first thing this morning…well, because last night I was part of a sweat lodge. What’s a sweat lodge? It’s a dome shaped structure made with natural materials.
It is inside and sometimes just outside the lodge where all the magic happens. The ceremony of the sweat started at 5pm and ended at midnight; and because it was held in Romona, CA…I didn’t get home until 1am. YIKES! I can’t tell you the last time I stayed up until 1am!
Because this was my first sweat; I don’t remember a lot of the details…there was a lot of information to process and just being part of it all was overwhelming beautiful. I was hoping to share a lot with you; but I think its still floating and swirling around in my head; but my body feels OM-mazing.
Here are some of the high level stuff that I remember; and look forward to sharing more with you as I process it all.
There were a total of 33 stones heated by the fire and brought into the lodge; each ceremony would bring in more rocks (with the last ceremony being the 33rd rock). Traditionally, for the type of sweat I attended there are four ceremonies; but last night we were offered a bonus track and had a fifth ceremony.
I only remember four out of the five ceremony themes; so in order to provide respect for the one I don’t remember…I’ll get more information and share the types of ceremonies through out the week. Be sure to check my Facebook and Instagram page for more details.
The sweat (a common term used to describe the experience) starts by bringing in very hot rocks, pouring water over them and let the sweating commence. The sweat is for prayer and healing, and the ceremony is led by elders who know the language, songs, traditions and safety protocols.
The sweat was all about stillness; being in the moment, being open, and having it all come from your heart center. I know it is special experiences like this that fill up our cups; its why we do them…it’s why we find ways to connect with ourselves. It provides us what we need to get though our busy lives and manage all the chaos.
But, what if we could find stillness in each moment, remaining open and living from our heart center? What would the world look like? What would your world look like? Could we actually live our day to day lives with our cup always full? I believe we can, and I would love to help…to guide and be there for you. You just have to ask. :)
See you in stillness,

A couple of announcements:
Happy Fathers Day to all you dads and fur dads out there…we love and appreciate you.
I will be live on Facebook Wednesday at 5:30pm PST; where I will share more about the sweat and how I have been keeping my cup full.
Time for some water; I’m so thirsty and I definitely see a nap in my near future.
