Sunday Stillness Brings Balance
Happy Sunday Stillness Day!
Did everyone lean back and trust the process last week? I tried; it’s not as simple as it sounds…right? What I did notice (besides that I make the same face when thinking as I did when I was potty training-see Facebook video/image posted Wednesday 5.24) is that our bodies are an equal partner in trusting the process.
It is our bodies that provide us the confirmation that we should trust or not. Our bodies help us not only from a physiology perspective, but as a mental, spiritual and physical guide.
How so?
Well, let’s reflect on the last two weeks…
The week of the 14th we leaned in to false fears.
The week of the 21st we leaned back into trust.
So, if we leaned in one week; and leaned back the next…where are we this week?
EXACTLY! We are balanced! YEA! Cheers to being balanced (virtual high five). Our bodies just sent us the physical message that we are balanced, upright and ready to face our challenges. We got this!
Now that we are balanced…let’s ask our bodies a few more questions to ensure we are being guided in the correct direction.
Mental Q: How does this feel? This state of balance?
Spiritual Q: How does this feel? This state of balance?
Physiology Q: How does this feel? This state of balance?
When we ask ourselves these questions; try and be in a place of stillness, close your eyes, take three deep inhales and exhales, and ask the questions.
- Mental- place your awareness on your mind (brain)
- Spiritual - place your awareness around your whole body (as if you had a spotlight on you and you can feel the warmth from the light)
- Physiology - place your awareness on your entire digestive system
Just observe what comes to you, no judgement and just feel what floats in and out. If you find yourself having a lot of thoughts (what is next on your to do list, who you forgot to call/text, did you remember to close the gauge door) bring your attention back to your breath. Focusing on the inhale and exhale and you naturally and normally breathe. Then, ask yourself the questions again.
What did you feel? Is this a feeling you would like to experience more often? To bring this feeling into a stressful day? Let me know; reply to this email and I can share some tips on how you can do just that!
Have a great week!
See you in stillness!
